Ok, A few weeks ago I posted about Diaspora. There has been a fairly big following on this project, a lot of people have been looking forward to the release of the source code/launch of this project. (If you didn’t know it was due for release yesterday 15th September.)
I sit here at just past midnight on the 16th and sadly there has been no release or update from the Diaspora Team! I’ll admit I’m in the UK and on BST (GMT + 1), they also didn’t note the time or time zone where it will be released. However I’m somewhat disappointed that I’m going to have to wait a little longer before I get my chance to play.
It looks like I will be going to bed tonight without playing with the new social networking tool that hopes to replace Facebook!
Is this a bad start to the new social networking site? Only time will tell.

They said that 15th was a test release of the platform. Public live release won’t be for a few months yet. Check the bottom of their latest blog post.
Ok fair point Matt, however that was added via an edit that happend after their original post! Several days after! Also their last tweet was still taking about getting things ready for release. I Will have to see how open their project is. It Will be nice to get a look at what they have built, and what platform it’s on.
Also all the media was posting the 15th as their release date (although I was expecting it to be an Alpha version). Would the correct thing not to have been to have a new blog post?
Bloody teasers. :p
It’s there now!! Go go go!!
